The best part?
Your dentist will shade match your same-day crown, giving your new smile a natural look.
What’s the procedure for same-day crowns like?
We’ll discuss your goals at your initial consultation and see if CEREC crowns are the best option for you.
Then, we’ll jump right into it.
Step 1: We’ll use an intraoral camera to capture 3D images of your tooth.
Step 2: The images will be sent to a CAD/CAM software machine that’ll create your digital tooth restoration.
Step 3: Using the CEREC milling technology, we’ll create your new dental crown using a ceramic block.
Step 4: Then, we’ll shade match your crown to the rest of your teeth and permanently secure it in place!
P.S. Keep in mind these steps are all done during the SAME visit!
What material are CEREC crowns made of?
A CEREC crown uses a single block of porcelain to create your new restoration.
This solid material creates excellent quality crowns that look natural and last for years to come!
It’s milled based on the digital impression of your teeth and is custom-made to fit perfectly.
Eat, laugh, and smile with confidence again!
What’s the difference between same-day crowns and traditional dental crowns?
Both types of crowns restore your tooth’s appearance and function, but with CEREC technology, you’ll have your new crown in one day.
A traditional dental crown, also known as lab-made crowns:
- Require multiple appointments
- Uses putty to create manual impressions
- Send impressions to a lab, requiring you to wear a temporary crown during the waiting time
- Takes around two weeks to build your new crown
CEREC crowns are made from high-quality porcelain, which is incredibly durable.
On the other hand:
Traditional lab-made crowns tend to be made from fused metal and ceramic, which may not blend well with the rest of your smile and can be an issue if you have any allergies.
A same-day crown and a traditional crown have the same function, but the convenience of saving time and money from multiple visits is priceless!
How much does a same-day crown cost?
CEREC crowns and traditional lab-made crowns are similar in cost.
You might pay less with same-day crowns because of the single visit!
The cost of a same-day crown depends on several factors, including:
- Number of dental crowns you need
- Geographic location
- A dentist’s expertise and training
Keep in mind:
Dental crowns are an investment that’ll last you years to come when done by trained dentists using high-quality materials.
How long does a dental crown last?
CEREC crowns last anywhere between 10 to 15 years on average.
Maintaining proper oral hygiene is essential, especially with a brand new crown.
It’s important to avoid hard or sticky food right after the crown has been placed.
After a few days, you’ll be able to eat your favorite meals again!
Optimize your crown’s lifetime by:
- Brushing your teeth twice a day, for at least two minutes each time
- Flossing at least once per day
- Visiting your dentist for routine cleanings and exams
Keep your smile in tip-top shape with your new dental crown!
